Metals Consulting, LLC was created by Theodoros Koutsoukis, Metallurgical Engineer, Ph.D., to serve within the fast-growing and continuously demanding field of Metallurgy and Materials Science.The company currently offers two distinct types of services. The first type involves consultation on metallurgical related topics, such as materials properties and characterization, metallurgical processes or R&D related topics. The second type of services is focused on professional editing and proofreading of scientific papers. A dedicated team of independent contractors is the heart of the company, driven by our love, and dedication to science.
Theodoros joined the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) in the School of Minning and Metallurgical Engineering in 1999 (Sep) and earned a B.Sc. as a Metallurgical Engineer in 2005 (Mar) with GPA 7.23/10 and a Ph.D. in Engineering from the same School in 2011 (Mar). Both, his dissertation and Ph.D. theses were entitled “Microstructure – properties relationship in Superaustenitic Stainless Steels”.
Between 2011 (Apr) and 2012 (Aug), he worked as a Research Associate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece) in the Department of Biomaterials, School of Dentistry, working on dental biomaterials.
In 2012 (Sep) until 2013 (Aug), he was hired as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University (Saudi Arabia) in the Dental Biomaterials Research and Development Chair, College of Dentistry, working on dental biomaterials.
In 2013 (Aug) he joined Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, joining the Metals Processing Institute, as a Research Scientist until 2016 (Aug). His major research topic was casting of aluminum alloys. Between 2015 (Aug) – 2016 (Aug), he was also working on various proprietary projects as a collaboration of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and IPG Photonics.
Over these years he has gained valuable experience in various industries and fields of metallurgical engineering and materials science.
